SmartPath™ is a program in which borrowers receive face-to-face prepurchase homebuyer education and counseling from an MGIC FrontStep Agency, meet specific program eligibility criteria, and qualify for reduced premiums when compared with MGIC's standard premiums. The program is designed to reward borrowers with lower premiums because they have completed sufficient homebuyer preparedness training and are better prepared to make wise financial and credit decisions and maintain long-term homeownership.
